Oppo Inno Day 2022 event: Oppo to launch its next-gen image processor – Times of India

Oppo has reportedly confirmed the dates of its annual technology conference — the Oppo Inno Day. The Chinese smartphone maker has allegedly shared a teaser on Weibo to announce the dates of the upcoming event. The Oppo Inno Day 2022 event will be held between 14 and 15 December. Oppo is expected to launch two new foldable devices — the Oppo N2 and the Oppo N2 Flip along with some other innovations and technology. According to a report by GizmoChina, the company has shared a new Weibo post to reveal its second-generation image chipset. This new teaser has revealed that Oppo will also debut the MariSilicon X Gen 2 picture processor at the same event. The upcoming photography chipset is expected to improve Oppo’s image processing prowess.
Oppo MariSilicon X Gen 2 chip: More details
As per the report, Oppo has claimed that this new chipset will deliver “breakthrough” developments at multiple innovations in critical technology elements including photography. In 2019, the company announced a 50 billion yuan investment over three years in Oppo’s chip business and other sectors.
The report also notes that Liu Bo, who is vice president of Oppo also shared details about Oppo’s MariSilicon X shipments in an interview in November. Bo claimed that Oppo’s chipset business has already surpassed 10 million shipments and more orders have been taken since then.

Oppo hasn’t revealed the first smartphone that will feature the new chipset. The company is expected to include this chip in the next Oppo Find X or Reno series handset. More details about the latest image processing platform will be revealed at the event.
Oppo Find N2: Expected specs
Oppo Find N2 will feature a clamshell foldable design like its predecessor, whereas the Find N2 Flip is expected to have a flip phone design. Rumours suggest that the Find N2 will feature a 7.1-inch LTPO AMOLED display that will support a 120Hz refresh rate.
The foldable handset is also likely to come powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, backed with 12GB RAM. For photos, the upcoming device will house a triple-camera setup that will include a 50MP primary shooter, a 48MP unit, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto sensor. The Find N2 may run Android 13-based ColorOS out-of-the-box.
