Oppo may launch a new ‘sports’ smartwatch soon – Times of India

Oppo Watch was the company’s first smartwatch which was launched last year. Reportedly, the company is working on the successor of the watch and has already filed a trademark application for the watch name.
A new trademark application filed at European Union Intellectual Office by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunication Corp.Ltd revealed that the next watch will be under the Oppo Watch series and it is likely to be named Oppo Watch Free, according to a report by LetsGo Digital website.
The application also suggests that Oppo might also suggest that the alleged Oppo Watch Free will be a sports watch. It clearly mentions “smartwatches; sports watches and watches for sporting use” under the Goods and Services section.
This means, unlike the first generation’s elegant design, the upcoming Oppo Watch might feature a rugged and sporty design. Or at least it will bring more sports-related features.
The trademark carries the trademark number 018478290 and is registered as class 9 and 14 which is for clocks, watches, etc.
The trademark is still awaiting approval. But what we for sure know now is that the company is working on its next-generation smartwatch.
There’s nothing else currently known about the upcoming Oppo Watch. But we can expect to see a similar rectangular design from Oppo Watch with some changes in terms of design and features.
