Oppo Watch 2 with Snapdragon Wear 4100 to be announced later this year – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Smartphone maker Oppo recently launched its latest Oppo Reno6 series smartphones and Enco Free2 true wireless earbuds in China. Now, the company has confirmed that it will launch a new smartwatch.
Oppo has revealed that it will launch the Oppo Watch 2 series smartwatch. The teaser image shared by the company confirms that the smartwatch will come with a square dial. The company has also confirmed that it has entered into partnership with Ambiq for Apollo 4s low-power chip which promises to offer long battery life to the device.
According to a tipster in China, the upcoming smartwatch from Oppo is said to come in 46mm size. The smartwatch is expected to offer Dusty Gray, Mine Shaft and Steel Blue colour options.
The tipster also suggested that the wearable is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor coupled with 16GB internal storage. It is also expected that the upcoming smartwatch is said to run Google’s Wear OS.
The device is said to come with new watch faces, stress detection and Oppo Relax app. The new Oppo Watch 2 is expected to launch in the second half of the year.
On the other hand, a recent online report revealed that Oppo is working on the successor of the watch and has already filed a trademark application for the watch name.
A new trademark application filed at European Union Intellectual Office by Guangdong Oppo Mobile Telecommunication Corp.Ltd revealed that the next watch will be under the Oppo Watch series and it is likely to be named Oppo Watch Free, according to a report by LetsGo Digital website.
The application also suggests that Oppo might also suggest that the alleged Oppo Watch Free will be a sports watch. It clearly mentions “smartwatches; sports watches and watches for sporting use” under the Goods and Services section.
