outlook: Microsoft starts to roll out revamped Outlook beta app for Windows users – Times of India
Microsoft has started to roll out the revamped Outlook desktop app for Windows users who are enrolled in the Beta channel. The new app comes a few days after it was leaked online and the tech giant was forced to issue a warning in order to discourage users from downloading it as it was still under development and lacked some of the features.
This version of Outlook comes with new intelligent features like message reminders and a new calendar board that puts your email, calendar, and To Do in the same view. In addition, with Microsoft Loop components, you can collaborate across Outlook and Teams while staying in the flow.
The new version also gets a Pinning feature that allows you to “stick” emails to the top of your inbox. Apart from this, the Sweep feature allows you to move emails in batches and also to apply rules to future incoming messages.
It is worth noting that the new app is an update to the Outlook app only and not a replacement to the Mail app that comes preinstalled with Windows 11. Previously it was rumoured that the new Outlook app will be a reboot of the Mail & Calendar app.
The new Outlook for Windows is available to Beta Channel users running Version 2205 (Build 15225.20000) or later. Since the new Outlook for Windows is still in preview, you are likely to encounter some gaps.
