Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba joined Cristiano Ronaldo in snubbing a Euro 2020 sponsor by removing a bottle of Heineken from the desk of his France press conference.
The alcoholic beverage, which is the official beer partner of Euro 2020, had been placed in front of Pogba before he spoke to the media after playing a crucial role in France’s victory over Germany on Tuesday.
A wonderful pass by the 28-year-old was crucial in Les Bleus scoring the only goal of the game against the Germans.
Pogba picked out left-back Lucas Hernandez with a rangy cross-field pass, which the Bayern Munich star fired across goal. German defender Mats Hummels turned the cross into his own net.
Man Utd star Pogba was also involved in a bizarre incident during the match.
Chelsea’s defender Antonio Rudiger appeared to bite the former Juventus man late in the first half.

He is a devout Muslim and alcohol is forbidden in the religion.
Heineken extended their long-term partnership with UEFA in 2019 and will sponsor the Champions League until 2024.
It comes after Portugal star Ronaldo removed a bottle of Coca-Cola from the desk and replaced it with water, exclaiming: “Drink water!”
Ronaldo was also pivotal in helping his side open their Euro 2020 campaign with a win. France, Portugal, Germany and Hungary make up a crunch Group F.
The 36-year-old scored twice late in Portugal’s 3-0 win over the Hungary.
His goals made him the highest scorer in European Championship history with 11 strikes.
The Juventus forward is playing at his fifth Euros, having first played in the competition at Euro 2004.
Ronaldo has been linked with a sensational return to Man Utd, where he would join Pogba.
Juventus’ poor season under Andre Pirlo, who has since been sacked, is believed to have convinced Ronaldo to leave.
The Premier League side are one of few clubs who can finance a move for Ronaldo.
It would see him return to the club where he scored 118 goals in 292 appearances and won three Premier Leagues and a Champions League.
But Ronaldo first wants to help Portugal defend their Euros title.
“I’ve been playing at the highest level for many years so this doesn’t faze me at all, if I were 18 or 19 maybe I’d have some sleepless nights but I’m 36 years old and whatever comes next will be for the best, whether that’s staying at Juve or getting a transfer,” he said.
“The crucial thing now is the Euros. It’s my fifth Euros but for me it’s like my first so I want to start on the right foot, we want to play a good match and have only good thoughts in our first match to our last.”
