WhatsApp pin messages
- The new feature is available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.4 update that can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, you can now pin messages in chats. Once you select the message you want to pin, it will appear on top of the chat so you can easily access it whenever you feel like.
- WhatsApp also lets you choose the duration of the pinned message. You can keep it for 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days depending on your requirement. You can also unpin the message anytime. It’s similar to how pinned chats work as they appear on top of your chat list. For now this feature is still in beta, and available to only select users.
- If you’re a WhatsApp beta user you can check if you’ve received the feature. Long press on a chat and check if the pin option is available. Then select the duration for the pinned message.
WhatsApp has also redesigned the attachment menu for chats. This is a tiny change but the attachment menu has square outlines for the icons, and it looks much better than the current design. You can see the new attachment menu in the image above. This redesign too is visible to only select beta testers on Android.
The new WhatsApp features are available to select beta testers on Android. Those who are enrolled in the WhatsApp beta programme can download the latest update, and check if the new features are available. WhatsApp is expected to roll these out to everyone soon.
