Pixel Buds Pro users can now access ANC settings from their Pixel phone volume menu – Times of India

Google has started rolling out a new update for its Pixel Buds Pro earbuds that helps users to change Active Noise Control (ANC) on their Pixel smartphones. Moreover, the faster way to control Pixel Buds Pro’s ANC settings has also been extended to the volume menu on Android 13. The volume integration for Pixel Buds Pro ANC was spotted (by 9to5Google) with version 22.26.15 of Google Play services.
The new change has reportedly started appearing for several Pixel phones. However, the new update can be seen with the same Google Account running Android 13 but not Android 12 on Pixel phones or Samsung tablets (12L).

How this new feature can be helpful
Google has moved the ANC strip with the Noise Cancellation On/Off and Transparency mode options to the top of the main screen just below “Forget” and “Connect/Disconnect.” With this change, users won’t have to open the Pixel Buds app, go to settings and then navigate to the Sound menu. This change might sound like a minor tweak but it is claimed to be “a convenient time saver.”
Apart from this, Google has also made it easier to access the ANC strip directly through the “Sound & vibration” menu. This means that the ANC strip can be accessed by using the volume slider and tapping the three-dot overflow menu at the bottom. The ANC menu will appear just below the Media volume option which is expected to offer a seamless integration which is similar to Apple’s Control Center approach on iOS.

However, it is important to note that both these changes are being rolled out by the tech giant as server-side updates and not an update for the Pixel Buds app. So, if you still haven’t received the new update, you have to wait a little longer before it makes through to your Pixel device.
