PlayStation Studios and Kojima Productions Announce a Documentary on Hideo Kojima

PlayStation and Kojima Productions have announced a documentary on one of the most well-known game developers on the planet, Hideo Kojima. The documentary, titled Hideo Kojima: Connected Worlds, will feature various known personalities such as Guillermo del Toro and George Miller who will be talking about what makes Kojima an iconic name in the gaming industry.

The documentary will give a closer look into the mind of the famous Japanese game developer. A trailer for the documentary has also been revealed, which reads “Coming Soon” instead of a concrete release date. It is a documentary film which will take viewers on “a journey into the creative mind of the most iconic video game creator in the world”, reads the official trailer description.

The description also states how Kojima is widely regarded as “the first auteur of video games”. This documentary will follow Kojima in his journey of setting up his independent studio, Kojima Productions. Viewers will also get to see Nicholas Winding Refn, Grimes, Norman Reedus, Woodkid, Chvrches and others as a part of this documentary.

Hideo Kojima has over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry. He started his career all way back in 1986 at Konami and created Metal Gear the following year for the MSX2. He developed several Metal Gear Solid titles at the studio for three decades before setting up Kojima Productions in 2005. After a split with Konami, he reformed Kojima Productions again as an independent studio with support from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The studio developed Death Stranding and is currently working on Death Stranding 2. They are also working on a cloud gaming project with Xbox but there are no details revealed yet.
