PlayStation’s Project Q Handheld Console Reportedly Arriving in November
At the PlayStation Showcase earlier this week, the Japanese gaming giants revealed some titles making their way to the libraries of the PS5 and the PSVR 2.
Along with the several new games in development, PlayStation also announced its next hardware product called Project Q. The device was revealed to be a portable streaming device, so it’s not necessarily a successor to the likes of the PS Vita and PSP.
The device features an 8-inch screen, with dual attachments on the side that resemble the PlayStation DualSense controller for the PS5.
With an active internet connection, players can stream their favourite games on the PS5 games library from anywhere in the world. This allows players to play games like The Last of Us: Part II, the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and many more on the go.
While we got a glimpse at the device, Sony’s PlayStation has withheld any details about the console’s hardware or software. However, we do know that PlayStation is also releasing a pair of gaming earbuds, which will most likely be part of the gaming experience of Project Q.
Moreover, PlayStation has also not revealed any details about the device’s release window or pricing. However, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson recently tweeted that users can expect the device to arrive “mid-late November 2023.”
It’s to be noted that Henderson was one of the first people to reveal Project Q’s existence before PlayStation’s announcement. So, it’s very likely that his comments about the release window are true after all.
In the end, expect to hear more about Project Q in the coming months from PlayStation.
