Poco F5 confirmed to launch in India: All the details – Times of India

Poco, a spin-off brand of Xiaomi, has confirmed the launch of its next smartphone – Poco F5 – in India. The company has been teasing the Poco F5 for a while now. Poco’s country head, Himanshu Tandon, took to Twitter to announce the launch of the Poco F5 in India.
Poco F5 will come with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset. The Snapdragon India handle on Twitter confirmed that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 will power the F5.
According to the company, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is the most powerful Snapdragon 7-series chipset. Based on the 4nm process node of TSMC, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, the 7+ Gen 2 is said to offer 50 per cent higher performance, 13 per cent improvement in power efficiency, and double the AI performance of its predecessor – the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Further, the chipset will enable support for WiFi 6E on the smartphone.
Poco F5 is said to be a rebrand of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which launched in China last month.
Poco F5: What to expect
While there could be some changes in the design, the Poco F5 is expected to offer the same hardware as the Redmi Note 12 Turbo.
Poco F5 may feature a 6.67-inch OLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The OLED panel on Redmi Note 12 Turbo comes with a peak brightness of 1000 nits, support for Dolby Vision, PWM dimming and DCI-P3 colour gamut, so we can expect the same on the upcoming F5.
In terms of optics, the smartphone might come with a 64MP triple camera setup and a 16MP camera on the front.
Confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, the Poco F5 might come with up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Further, the F5 could boast a 5000mAH battery with support for 67W fast charging.
