Poco India will not launch any new devices in May, will extend warranties of select customers | Digit
The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has caused many parts of the country to head into lockdown. Keeping that in mind, Poco India has announced that it will not be launching any new smartphones in May and all new launches have been paused. Further, it will be extending the warranty of select users by two months. It should be noted that the extended warranty only applies to those users whose warranty expires in the month of May or June.
The company notes in its tweet, “we, at Poco India, wanted to reiterate that nothing is more important than the well-being of our employees, consumers, members of the Poco family, and everyone who has been associated with us.”
Poco is scheduled to launch the Poco M3 Pro 5G globally, but now, it looks that the phone’s launch in the country will be delayed until further notice. The smartphone is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. The device is tipped to come with a 90Hz display, 48MP triple-rear camera, support for fast charging, and more.
The Poco X3 Pro was recently launched by the company in India. The device packs a 6.67-inch Full HD+ display and offers a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 SoC with up to 8GB RAM and 128G storage. At the back is a quad-rear camera setup with a 48MP+8MP+2MP+2MP setup. At the front is a 20MP unit for taking selfies or for video chatting. The phone also offers stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Other features include an IR blaster and a 5160mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. The Poco X3 Pro has been launched in India in two variants, with the base variant offering 6GB RAM and 128GB storage at Rs 18,999. The 8GB RAM variant is available for Rs 20,999.
