Pokemon Go Festival of Colors 2023 Event Details Explained; Scarlet and Violet Players are Losing their Save Files and More

Holi just passed, but that doesn’t mean that the players need to stop celebrating. Pokémon Go will be celebrating Holi in-game through their Festival of Colors 2023 event, which will go on from March 8 to March 14. Players can expect a bunch of Field Research Tasks, Raids, Collection Challenges, an increase in Encounter and more during this event.

Field Research Tasks

Players can complete Festival of Colors Field Research Tasks for exclusive encounters. The tasks and rewards include the following: Catch 5 different species of Pokémon for Castform Encounter, 8 different species for Burmy Encounter, 10 different species for Oricorio Encounter and 15 Pokémon for Grimer Encounter.

Raid Targets

Players can catch Pokémon Go Raid Targets for bonus rewards. These include Espurr, Rockruff, Mareanie, Bruxish, Exeggutor, Alolan Exeggutor, Cryogonal, Druddigon, Mega Medicham and Ho-Oh.

Collection Challenge

Players can catch the following Pokémon for a reward of 20,000 XP and a Lure Module: Koffing, Stunky, Wobbuffet, Natu, Shuckle, Paras, Krabby, Bruxish, Sandy Cloak Burmy, Trash Cloak Burmy, Plant Cloak Burmy, and Burmy’s evolution, Mothim.

Increased Encountes

Encounters will increase for the following Pokémon during the Festival of Colors 2023: Paras, Krabby, Lickitung, Koffing, Natu, Wobbyffet, Shuckle, Galarian Zigzagoon, Wingull, Burmy, Stunky and Bruxish.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Players Lose Their Save Files

An issue related to Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet has surfaced on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit. It seems that many players have lost hundreds of hours of gameplay, as their save files have been deleted. There isn’t one specific reason for this issue, but several.

Some faced it by syncing Scarlet or Violet to Pokémon Go, some experienced it when sending a postcard to another player, and some experienced when they bought the recently announced Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. A person from Nintendo has reached out to the user who posted about the issue and has stated that they are aware of the issue and will get back to them once they have more information.
