Prehistoric Planet Season 2 First Teaser Trailer Now Out

Apple TV+ has shared the first teaser for Prehistoric Planet Season 2. The first look that dropped on April 18, gave us a look at the new season of the documentary on dinosaurs. Apple TV + has shared more information about Prehistoric Planet via a press release. Here’s all you need to know about this upcoming show.

About Prehistoric Planet Season 2

Prehistoric Planet comes from executive producer Jon Favreau, who pop culture fanatics would recognize in a heartbeat. Also, given that the show is about events that happened millions of years ago, and specifically dinosaurs, it is heavily dependent on photorealistic visual effects. Favreau is therefore back with The Moving Pictures Company after their earlier work together on The Jungle Book and The Lion King, for the second season of Prehistoric Planet.

BBC Studios Natural History Unit, whose notable works include documentary Planet Earth, will be producing the second season of Prehistoric Planet. Jellyfish Pictures, who has worked on The Book of Boba Fett, and Spirit: Untamed, has created the concept art of the show.

Also, the original score of the show has been composed by none other than Hans Zimmer, along with Anže Rozman and Kara Talve for Bleeding Fingers Music. To top it off, the legendary documentary narrator, Sir David Attenborough is also part of the show.

Other details of the show

With the who’s who of the industry working on Prehistoric Planet Season 2, we can’t wait to find out more about this documentary. We had already gotten a taste of it all in the first season in 2022. However, Apple TV+ has shared information of “never-before-seen species on-screen”. Some of the new dinosaurs that have been included in this season are Isisaurus, Pectinodon, Quetzalcoatlus and Hatzegopteryx.

“Prehistoric Planet” combines award-winning wildlife filmmaking, the latest paleontology learnings and state-of-the-art technology to unveil the spectacular habitats and inhabitants of ancient Earth for a one-of-a-kind immersive experience.

The second season will be a 5-day show, just like its predecessor, and it will premiere on May 22, 2023, on Apple TV+.
