PS Plus October 2022 PS4 and PS5 games release time, date and line-up
Sony is about to release the Essential PlayStation Plus free games for October 2022. Another strong selection of games, the PS Plus Essentials line-up includes Injustice 2, Hot Wheels Unleashed and Superhot. The free PS4 and PS5 games have an October 4 release date and an estimated 10am BST UK launch time. Needless to say, PS Plus subscribers only have a few hours left to claim the current line-up of Need for Speed Heat, Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Toem.
As for the October 2022 free PlayStation Plus games, arcade racer Hot Wheels Unleashed is a personal favourite.
The fast-paced racing game features dozens of classic Hot Wheels cars, not to mention a host of unique tracks in everyday locations.
There’s even a track editor for anybody looking to create their own courses. The ability to share and sample courses online gives Hot Wheels near unlimited replay potential.
“Collect, build and race in this fantastic arcade sim based on the Hot Wheels universe,” reads the official description.
“Earn new vehicles then take them to the track to race side by side with friends in two-player split-screen, or face up to 12 opponents in online challenges. One you’ve raced, why not try and build your own course? Create amazing layout inside and outside the track editor.
“Add loops, special boosters, obstacles and special elements to make an incredible amusement park for your races, then share your creation online for other players to try.”
Injustice 2, on the other hand, is a cinematic fighting game featuring characters from DC Comics. This includes Superman, Batman, Flash, Joker, and Scarecrow.
Finally, Superhot is an innovative shooter featuring an interesting time-based gameplay mechanic.
“Blurring the lines between cautious strategy and unbridled mayhem, Superhot is the FPS in which time moves only when you move.
“No regenerating health bars. No conveniently placed ammo drops. It’s just you, outnumbered and outgunned, grabbing the weapons of fallen enemies to shoot, slice, and manoeuvre through a hurricane of slow-motion bullets.
“Superhot’s polished, minimalist visual language helps you concentrate on the most important – on the fluidity of gameplay and cinematic beauty of the fight.”
