PS Plus September 2023 free PS4 and PS5 games reveal time, Saint’s Row leak

There’s good news for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as Sony gets ready to reveal the Essentials line-up for September 2023. Taking slightly longer than usual, the next batch of PS Plus games will be officially unveiled at 4.30pm BST UK time on the afternoon of August 30. Subscribers will have to wait another week to download and play the PS4 and PS5 games, which will be available on the morning of September 5. Of course, while nothing has been officially confirmed, it looks like one of the September games may have leaked early and ahead of schedule.

Indeed, judging by the latest leaks, last year’s Saint’s Row reboot will headline the PS Plus line-up next month.

The Saint’s Row reboot features the series’ signature sense of humour, as players cause chaos in an open-world environment.

Sony explains more: “As the future Boss, with Neenah, Kevin, and Eli by your side, you’ll form The Saints – and take on Los Panteros, The Idols, and Marshall as you build your empire across the streets of Santo Ileso and battle for control of the city.

“Ultimately Saints Row is the story of a start-up company, it’s just that the business The Saints are in happens to be crime.

“Experience the biggest and best Saints Row playground ever created; the unique sprawling world of Santo Ileso is the backdrop for a wild, larger than life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures and blockbuster missions, as you shoot, drive, and wingsuit your way to the top.”

While no other games have been announced, fans have been having fun predicting the Essentials line-up for September.

In an entertaining predictions thread over on Reddit, multiple fans believe that Hitman World of Assassination will join the line-up in September.

There are also multiple votes for horror platform game Little Nightmares 2, which makes sense considering a third game was just announced.

Other fans believe Nier Automata will appear in the September line-up, alongside the likes of Hades, Tunic, Sifu, No Man’s Sky and Tales of Arise.

Needless to say, first-party games like The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2, Spider-Man and Gran Turismo Sport are all mentioned in the thread, as well as long-running prediction The Order 1886.

Express Online will keep this article updated, so check back for any additional leaks and for the official Sony reveal on August 30.
