Henderson claims that the new PS5 controller is codenamed ‘Hunt’ and will come with several new features. The controller seems to have the signature PS5 style with some major differences. The controller could let you remove the analog sticks and their components. This could let you replace the analog stick components in case you experience stick drift. Another supposed feature could be trigger stops at the back panel of the controller along with flappy buttons. It also seemingly has removable grips to assist in holding the controller. The controller may also be supported by various software updates.
It’s unclear when the PS5 Pro controller will be revealed. Henderson’s source claims that an official reveal should happen soon. Sony is expected to unveil new hardware later this month, but the PS5 Pro controller may not be announced during that event. However, PlayStation fans can expect a God of War Ragnarok update during the upcoming event.
The new controller could also be launched alongside the PS5 Pro, which is expected to be released by 2024. While none of the details have been officially confirmed yet, PS5 Pro is expected to offer 120 FPS gameplay at 2160p resolution as well as play games at 8K resolution. Internally, the PS5 Pro could come with chips that are equivalent to the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU.
