PS5 System Update Out Now, Doesn’t Do A Whole Lot
The newest PlayStation system software update has arrived, but don’t expect much in the way of major changes. The new update, Version 23.01-07.40.00, improves system performance and stability and improves “usability” for some screens, Sony said in the patch notes.
This is the first PS5 update since April’s 23.01-07.20.00, which was also a minor update improved stability and usability, and also made some changes to the DualSense Edge for stability.
The PS5’s last major update came in March, and it added Discord support and Variable Refresh Rate for 1440p resolution.
The PS5 is soaring right now, having sold more than 38 million units. If you’re in the market for a new PS5, the God of War Ragnarok PS5 bundle is discounted to its lowest price ever.
