PS5 vs. Xbox Series X vs. PC: Comparing Elden Ring’s Graphics Performance

FromSoftware’s highly touted title Elden Ring has finally arrived, and players on all consoles and PC can now try some of the action that critics have called one of the best in years.

Elden Ring has become the front runner for the upcoming Game of the Year awards. But how does the game perform on the next generation consoles and PC?

Here’s YouTuber ElAnalistaDeBits with the comparison of Elden Ring both in terms of the visuals and performance.

In terms of the storage space required, players will need to keep aside up to 50GB of space on any console or PC.

With the visuals, both the Xbox Series X and PS5 will run the game either at 2160p resolution and 30 FPS or they can also run it at 1080p and 60 FPS.

According to the YouTuber, users with a VRR compatible screen might want to go the Xbox route if they want a console for Elden Ring as it significantly improves the performance, and PS5 doesn’t have that option.

When it comes to the visuals, PCs and PS5s have Xbox users beat. However, the PC variant has one major flaw in frame drops during some scenarios, which would most likely be fixed with future patches for the game.

There are two modes when it comes to the performance with the FPS mode allowing for smooth 60 FPS gameplay. While it improves performance significantly, users will have to adjust with the decrease in visual fidelity, thanks to the lower quality shadows, reflections and anisotropic filtering.

In the end, FromSoftware has some issues to iron out with the gameplay of Elden Ring. While fans rarely see these problems in their playthrough, the developers will be up to the task to improve performance soon with updates, and the performance should increase significantly in the coming days.
