PSA: Launch Tears of the Kingdom players can now see how many hours they’ve put in

The numbers are going live for those who got it launch

It’s been 10 days since The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom went live for Nintendo Switch. And thanks to the way Nintendo’s system tracks playtime, that means we are now at the point where launch Tears of the Kingdom players can see their hour count.

A long-standing quirk of the Switch has been that it doesn’t count hours played until 10 days after you first played a game. A little weird, but that limit is now off for those who picked up and played Tears of the Kingdom on day one.

Just head over to your Nintendo Switch profile using the icon in the top-left of your home page, and you should see Tears of the Kingdom‘s hour count. Keep in mind, Nintendo also rounds off hour counts to multiples of 5. It’s not quite as exact as something like Steam, but it’s an hour count for Tears of the Kingdom nonetheless.

For the record, my own hour count after 10 days of play sits at 70 hours or more, which is pretty respectable, I’d say. It still only feels like I’m grazing the surface of the game, though. Seriously, how big are the Depths?

Spending years in the Kingdom

So yes, now you can encourage your friends to share their own hour count and boast who has more. It’s a testament to this entry that even though we’re back in Hyrule, the changes are so substantial that I still feel there’s so much to explore. I haven’t been to the floating cubes, nor have I progressed too far into Tarrey Town’s house-building possibilities. Heck, I still want to see what they did over on Eventide this time around.

Feel free to share your Tears of the Kingdom hour count in the comments below!
