PSG star Donnarumma hospitalised with partner after being ‘tied up’ in robbery

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was reportedly the victim of a terrifying home robbery in the early hours of Friday morning, along with his partner, which saw them taken to hospital. The pair are reported to have been tied up as part of the attack, before escaping to a nearby hotel.

Several men are reported to have broken into the Paris home, in the eighth district in the centre of the French capital, before launching a physical assault on Donnarumma and his girlfriend.

According to Actu17, the robbers tied up those inside the home and walked away with items totalling more than £400,000. Donnarumma and his partner reportedly escaped to a local hotel at around 3am, where employees proceeded to call the police.

The victims of the horrifying robbery were then taken to hospital for additional care, with France’s special BRB police unit promptly opening an investigation.

Donnarumma’s former PSG team-mate, Angel Di Maria, was also the subject of a burglary in his Paris home back in 2021. Members of the Argentine’s family were thought to be present as robbers made off with £450,000 worth of jewellery, watches and cash.

Marquinhos, Mauro Icardi, Thiago Silva and Sergio Rico have also been the victims of similar incidents while playing for the Ligue 1 giants.

Donnarumma was reportedly offered to Manchester City this summer as part of swap deal negotiations for Bernardo Silva, although the Sky Blues are believed to have rejected the proposal.

The 24-year-old has 54 caps for Italy on his CV, and he was in net for the Euro 2020 showdown against England, saving two penalties in the final at Wembley.
