PUBG Mobile: Tencent Launches New Esports Hub for Tournament Licensing
PUBG Mobile has launched a new esports hub to simplify the setup and management of all levels of competitive tournaments being organised. This new hub streamlines the process for individuals and organisations to apply for an official tournament licence.
There are four distinct tiers available for the application process. These tiers include community-led tournaments as well as major pro tournaments.
Those interested in hosting a tournament have to simply sign up on the website, fill in the required information, and upload the necessary documents.
Application status can also be tracked now to provide updates to the applicant during the process.
Tournaments licensed by PUBG Mobile will also stand a chance to secure a slot and participate in the PUBG Mobile Pro League qualifiers.
This opens up a way for amateur players and tournament organisers to ascend to the professional level. The new esports hub will also give organisers a chance to work with sponsors to host better tournaments and provide a better experience for viewers.
Those who wish to apply for a tournament licence can apply for it here.
PUBG Mobile remains banned in India ever since September 2, 2020. The popular battle royale game was banned by the government for concerns about the data privacy of users and national security concerns. It was banned under Section 69A of the IT Act.
Krafton brought a revised version of PUBG Mobile to India called Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). However, BGMI also got the ban hammer on 28 July 2022 in India under the same section by the government of India, but it might just be making its return.
