Ubisoft has announced an unexpected crossover for its tactical shooter game Rainbow Six Siege, According to a report by PCGamer, the players of this game will soon receive new skins based on Sega‘s Yakuza franchise. Ubisoft has also shared a video on Youtube to announce the crossover which you can watch here. The trailer video has confirmed that these skins will be available on May 24. Rainbow Six Siege has been one of the most appreciated games from Ubisoft and has been going strong even seven years after its original release. Both fans and critics have praised the multiple improvements and updates that the game received since its launch, especially after adopting a games-as-a-service model. Rainbow Six Siege has participated in several crossovers in the past few years as the game has been consistent about providing content to its fans. This game is now available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Yakuza-themed skins: All Details
The Yakuza-themed skins will be for two operators of Rainbow Six Siege — Echo and Hibana, that are defensive and offensive-based, respectively. Echo’s skin will be based on the protagonist and face of the Yakuza series, Kazuma Kiryu. Meanwhile, Hibana‘s skin will be based on a character from Yakuza 2, Kaoru Sayama. Kaoru was the lead detective from Osaka’s police department and was also Kiryu‘s partner and love interest in Yakuza.
According to the video shared by Ubisoft, skins for both the operates will be heavily based on the appearances of these characters as seen in Yakuza 2. Both characters will wield a special cosmetically decorated gun. For instance, Kiryu’s gun will be based heavily on the dragon tattoo that is on the character’s back. The trailer video has also teased another Elite skin for Echo, which is expected to be based on Kiryu’s rival Goro Majima.
Rainbow Six Siege’s previous crossovers
The last crossover the game participated in was back in 2021 that included a variety of cosmetic skins from various sources. This crossover had a skin based on Capcom’s Resident Evil and even Rick and Morty-themed skins, that included a skin based on Pickle Rick for operators like Smoke.
