NEW DELHI: Realme has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming high-end smartphone — Realme GT 2 Pro. The smartphone maker has revealed that it will launch its first premium flagship on January 4 in China.
Earlier this week, Realme organised a virtual event in which the company confirmed the three new features of Realme GT 2 Pro. The company confirmed that the upcoming Realme smartphone will offer a new design, imaging and communication features.
Realme GT 2 Pro first features
The company revealed that the Realme GT 2 Pro will be the world’s first smartphone to be designed with bio-based materials. As per the company, the back cover on the smartphone uses a bio-polymer material that serves as an eco-friendly alternative to fossil raw materials that contribute to global warming. Additionally, Realme’s new box design has also reduced the overall plastic ratio – from 21.7% in the previous generation to 0.3% in the current model.
Coming to imaging, the company claims that Realme GT 2 Pro is the first smartphone to offer a 150-degrees ultra-wide camera, which expands the phone’s field of view by 278% compared to the main camera’s 84-degrees field. The company has also developed the world’s first fisheye mode for smartphones on the device to provide an ultra-long depth of field effect.
The Realme GT 2 Pro is also said to come equipped with HyperSmart antenna switching technology that is designed with 12 wrap-around antennas that cover all sides of the phone and support mainstream bands in almost all directions, all with the same signal strength. This allows GT 2 Pro to evaluate the signal strength of all antennas and automatically select the one with the best signal.
The smartphone maker has already confirmed that the flagship smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
Realme GT 2 Pro expected specifications and price
Realme GT 2 Pro is said to come with a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. The smartphone is also said to come with 65W fast charging support. The smartphone is expected to be backed by a 5000mAh battery.
The smartphone is said to be priced over $800 (Rs 60,740).
