Reliance Jio launches Apple AirTag-rival, JioTag: All you need to know – Times of India

Jio has introduced a new Bluetooth tracking device known as JioTag in India. This tracker is similar to Apple‘s AirTag and Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag and can be attached to accessories and devices to help locate them using Bluetooth connectivity with the user’s smartphone.

Listed at Rs 2199, the JioTag is currently available at Rs 749 on the company’s website. At this price, JioTag is one of the most affordable tracking tags available in India.
JioTag is available for purchase on the official Jio.com website, as well as at Reliance Digital and JioMart.

JioTag is a Bluetooth tracker that helps users keep track of their devices and accessories, similar to Apple AirTag. It is square-shaped, white in colour with a Jio logo on it. The Bluetooth tracker weighs 9.5 gram and measures 3.82 x 3.82 x 0.72cm.
By connecting the JioTag to the JioThings app on their smartphone, users can attach the tag to their personal items like wallets and handbags to monitor their whereabouts.
The tracking tag operates using a replaceable battery with a lifespan of one year, identified as CR2032. Jio is providing an additional battery and a lanyard cable inside the box for users. The lanyard is designed to help users attach the JioTag to their belongings with ease.
The JioTag has a range of up to 20 metres indoors and up to 50 metres outdoors. It connects to the smartphone using Bluetooth 5.1.
While the JioTag, is helpful to keep track of your belongings to keep track of them, it is also helpful in locating misplaced smartphones.
By double-tapping the JioTag, your phone will ring even in silent mode. Additionally, the JioTag alerts you when you forget your wallet, keys, or other belongings and provides the accurate location where you left them.
Even though the JioTag does not support the Ultra-Wideband network, it does come with a similar feature, the Jio Community Find. If you can’t locate your belongings even at the last place you disconnected them, you can label your JioTag as lost on the JioThings app, then the Community Find will then search to report your lost JioTag to you, providing you with its location.
