Reliance Jio revises its ‘cheapest’ prepaid plan: Here’s what it offers – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio has revised its existing prepaid plan of Rs 119. The telco has added the free SMS to the plan after revision. The plan already offers data and unlimited calling facility. The Rs 119 plan is presently the most affordable plan from Reliance Jio that offers unlimited calling, data and SMS benefits.
What the Rs 119 plan now offers
Spotted by TelecomTalk, the Mukesh Ambani-owned telecom operator has revised its entry-level plan of Rs 119. After revision, the prepaid plan of Rs 119 offers 300 SMS along with 1.5GB data and unlimited calling. The plan comes with the validity of 14 days.
Along with the above mentioned plan, Reliance Jio also offers complimentary access to the Jio Suite apps with the Rs 119 plan.
This prepaid plan from Reliance Jio is said to be a revamped version of the Rs 98 prepaid plan, which the company discontinued last year in May. The same plan was reintroduced earlier this year. The plan offers 1.5GB total data and unlimited calling and 14 days validity. The company excluded the 300 SMS facility from the plan at the time of reintroduction.
Reliance Jio tops 4G download speed
According to the latest data published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Reliance Jio has managed to retain its top position with the highest average data download speed of 24.1 megabit per second among 4G service providers in November. The download speed helps consumers to access content from the internet, while upload speed helps them send data or share pictures or videos with their contacts.
Jio network recorded around 10 per cent rise in average 4G data download speed while speed on VIL and Airtel network increased 8.9 percent and 5.3 percent respectively compared to the previous month. VIL maintained its leadership in terms of 4G data upload speed in October. The company’s network recorded an upload speed of 8 mbps, the highest in the last five months.
