Reliance Jio’s Rs 499 plan vs Airtel and Vi’s Rs 479 plan: How they compare – Times of India

NEW DELHI:In November last year, Reliance Jio increased the price of all its existing prepaid plans. The company has increased the prices of its ‘unlimited data’ plans by as much as 20%. Post the increase, Reliance Jio’s ‘unlimited data’ plans now start at Rs 91. Now, the service provider has introduced a new monthly plan of Rs 499. As part of this new plan, the Jio users will get 2GB data per day along with the additional benefits.
Wondering how this new plan from Reliance Jio will compete against the existing plans from Airtel and Vodafone Idea. Here’s a comparison of the data plans from the three telecom operators.
Reliance Jio’s Rs 499 plan
Under the Rs 499 plan, Reliance Jio offers 2GB data and 100 SMS per day. Once the daily 2GB data is exhausted, the internet speed will be reduced to 64Kbps. Valid for the period of 28 days, the new prepaid plan also offers unlimited calling facility.
Apart from this, the plan also offers some additional benefits which include free access to the Jio Suite app and mobile annual subscription of Disney+ Hotstar.
Airtel Rs 479 plan
Airtel offers a prepaid plan of Rs 479 under which users will get 1.5GB data per day with unlimited calling facility. The plan comes with a validity of 56 days and it also offers 100 SMS per day. The Airtel users will also get a 30 day free trial of Mobile Edition of Prime Video, free online courses and cashback of Rs 100 on FASTag and free Hello Tunes.
Vodafone Idea Rs 479 plan
The Vodafone Idea users will get unlimited calling facility and 1.5GB data per day under the Rs 479 plan. The plan also offers 100 SMS per day. As part of the additional benefits, the Vodafone Idea users will also get weekend data rollover, free access to the Vi movies and TV and Binge all night benefit under which users can stream and surf the internet from 12 midnight to 6 am without pack deduction.
