Resident Evil Village VR Mode to Arrive as a Launch Title for Sony PS VR2; Available as Free DLC for PlayStation 5 Players

Sony PlayStation is gearing up towards the release of its next hardware device in the PlayStation VR2 headset console.

Over the past few months, Sony has unveiled several titles that will join the platform as a launch title or will release in the months after that. Yesterday, the company announced the arrival of another launch title in Resident Evil Village VR Mode.

Just like the VR headset, the VR mode of the hit horror title will release on February 22, 2023, as a free DLC for Resident Evil Village players on PC.

The popular Capcom title will be making use of the game’s eye-popping graphics while playing as Ethan Winters, as he attempts to rescue his kidnapped daughter.

“Visually, the vivid graphics of the 4K HDR display (2000×2040 per eye) and eye tracking produces a heightened perception of reality as if everything you see is actually there,” said Kanda, one of the game’s producers at Capcom in a recent PlayStation blog post. “3D audio enhances the realism with audio from every angle, and your sense of touch is enhanced via the PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers. With one controller in each hand, you can feel the vibration, recoil, and resistance as you interact with objects in the world and fire weapons.”

With The Sense controllers, players will be able to experience newfound levels of immersion in Resident Evil Village, which features putting your arms up to guard and holding your gun to shoot.
