#RIPTwitter trends on Twitter after the wave of mass resignations – Times of India

On Friday (November 18), “#RIPTwitter” began to top the trends after the reports of employees deciding to leave ‘hardcore’ Twitter, leaving the company with just Elon and a few engineers, signaling the end of the microblogging platform.
Elon had sent the employees at Twitter an ultimatum, asking them to either accept the “extremely hardcore” Twitter or leave the company with a severance package. And it is being reported that almost 75 to 90 percent of the workforce was left did not go ahead with Musk’s plan to ‘work for longer hours at high intensity.’
Now that no one is left at the company, the Twitter employees leaving the company expect the platform to start breaking soon.
The “#RIPTwitter” trend is believed to be started by the batch of Twitter employees resigning today, and when the news broke, others joined them. While most of them took a chance to meme the end of Twitter, many bid farewell to their time at Twitter.
A number of reports suggest that “critical” teams at Twitter have resigned their way out of the company, including the engineering team that used to work on maintaining the core libraries necessary to keep the platform up and running. Also, Twitter does not reportedly have a communications team now.
The future of Twitter is once again uncertain, but Musk seems to be confident about things. “The best people are staying, so I’m not super worried,” tweeted Musk. Now, only time would tell if Twitter is on the path to the end or if it will do fine with whatever ‘best’ people have stayed.
