NEW DELHI: Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Rohit Sharma achieved a significant milestone on Sunday during a crucial match against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rohit joined the elite club of cricketers who have scored 11,000 runs in T20 cricket, becoming only the second Indian player to achieve this feat after Virat Kohli.
Rohit reached the milestone in style, hitting three consecutive boundaries against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He started the match needing 40 runs to reach the 11,000-run mark and wasted no time in completing the feat. With this achievement, Rohit became the seventh player to join the exclusive list of batsmen who have scored 11,000 runs in T20 cricket.

The match itself was a thrilling encounter at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Cameron Green‘s sensational century played a pivotal role in keeping Mumbai Indians’ hopes alive as they chased down a target of 201 with ease, winning the match by eight wickets.
Rohit Sharma’s contribution was vital as well, scoring a well-crafted 56 runs off 37 deliveries. Alongside Green’s unbeaten 100 off just 47 balls, they launched a stunning counter-attack against the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers, guiding their team to victory with 12 balls to spare.

Earlier in the match, Mumbai Indians’ bowlers made a brilliant comeback in the slog overs to restrict Sunrisers Hyderabad to 200/4. The SRH openers, Vivrant Sharma (69 off 47) and Mayank Agarwal (83 off 46), had set the stage on fire with sparkling fifties, but Mumbai’s bowlers managed to contain the scoring in the latter stages of the innings.
With this impressive win, Mumbai Indians kept their hopes alive in the IPL, staying in contention for a playoff spot. Rohit Sharma’s remarkable milestone added another feather to his illustrious career, further solidifying his status as one of the finest batsmen in T20 cricket.
