OVERALL

Romeo Doubs aligned both inside and out for Nevada’s offense, but he will likely be more of an outside receiver in the NFL.

Doubs has an above-average size and play strength for the position. And while he flashes foot quickness on his routes, he will need to continue to refine his route tree. Nevada’s offense utilized him most on vertically stemmed routes from the outside, and he is best working north and south, as he has average lateral quickness and doesn’t consistently make defenders miss in a phone booth.

Doubs flashes good burst and balance with the ball in his hands to split defenders on screens and intermediate throws. He has good catching range where his body control is highlighted and is able to consistently make catches on throws at all angles away from his body.

However, Doubs does have concentration drops crop up on throws at his body and in a crowd. His route tree also needs further development, as Nevada’s offense was more vertical and screen-based with the routes he was asked to run.

Overall, Doubs has enough straight-line speed, size and strength to be a contributor on special teams in the NFL as he continues to develop other aspects of his game. He will ideally be used on the outside, where he can stay more vertical with his route tree and his catching radius and build-up speed can be utilized.

His ability to start and stop on routes is a bit of a question mark at this point in time because of what he was asked to do in college, but there might still be potential to tap as his route tree expands. Doubs has the upside as a No. 2 WR but a No.3-type weapon in a passing attack who also can be useful in the red zone with his body control.
