RR vs SRH IPL 2023: Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad aim to resurrect flagging campaign | Cricket News – Times of India
Nothing went right for the Royals against the defending champions at their home ground as they crashed to a nine-wicket loss, which also reduced their impressive NRR to 0.448. It was also RR’s joint-biggest defeat in Jaipur in terms of the number of balls remaining.
IPL POINTS TABLE | SCHEDULE & RESULTS
Before Friday’s debacle, RR were humbled by Kolkata Knight Riders in front of their home crowd in 2019. KKR also chased down the modest target with 37 balls to spare like GT did on Friday.
With ten points from the same number of matches, RR will have to pull up their socks if they want to remain in the top-4 and qualify for the playoffs. The last year’s runners-up will be aiming for a much-improved performance after back-to-back defeats against the Mumbai Indians and GT.
Like most of the teams season, RR are also going through ups and downs. After leading the points table for quite a while, the Sanju Samsonled team will be hoping to regroup themselves at the business end of the league stage.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was unfortunately run out after a bad mix-up with his skipper in the last match against GT, would like to extend his dream form against struggling SRH.
Samson looked in good touch but just couldn’t capitalize on a bright start on Friday. Jos Buttler’s form is a headache for the RR team management and Shimron Hetmyer also failing to finish off the innings.
The RR bowling attack is different story.
The spin trio of R Ashwin, Adam Zampa and Yuzvendra Chahal has managed to control the opponents most of the time. Sandeep Sharma has also bowled well within his limitations. However, Trent Boult has been going for a lot of runs and wasn’t quite able to provide breakthroughs in the recent outings.

SRH, on the other hand, have posted just three victories from nine ties to occupy the penultimate spot in the 10-team contest. They were poised to get the better of KKR in their last match in Hyderabad but suffered a painful five-run defeat.
The former champions will look to return to winning ways to keep their playoff hopes alive. They have the potential but just couldn’t click as a unit.
