RRR Director S.S Rajamouli Reveals That a Sequel Is in the Works

It’s fair to say that India’s biggest blockbuster of the year has to be the S.S. Rajamouli-directed RRR, which broke box office records around the globe.

Starring N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan in lead roles, the film is an action extravaganza with scenes that take your breath away. While the film had a monstrous run in the Indian box office, it’s performance internationally gave it universal reach.

With exhilarating moments that blow your mind, fans wanted more from Rajamouli with his historical period drama, and it seems like he might be planning to deliver more soon.

At a recent screening in Chicago, the popular Indian director confirmed that he has been thinking about developing a sequel to RRR. Furthermore, he also revealed that he has been talking about a script with his father, V. Vijayendra Prasad, who also penned the original.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether Rajamouli has plans to create a sequel with the characters of N.T.R. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan in Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, respectively.

The original film is a fictitious tale between two of the biggest Indian revolutionaries. A sequel adventure involving some of the country’s greatest freedom fighters can definitely invoke another masterful film from S.S. Rajamouli and his team. Currently, the director is working on a film with Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu, which goes on floors next year.
