Ryan Reynolds Inexplicably Rebooting Biker Mice From Mars
Biker Mice from Mars is making a comeback thanks to Ryan Reynolds.
A new reboot of the cult classic cartoon is on its way from Nacelle, which will be co-produced by Fubo and Reynolds’ own production company, Maximum Effort.
“Some people know that I am a motorcycle enthusiast,” said Reynolds in an official announcement. “So, it was only natural for us to jump on board Biker Mice from Mars. Maximum Effort and Fubo look forward to putting a new spin on this cult classic with our friends at Nacelle.”
This new Biker Mice from Mars comes 27 years after the original series ended. The original ‘90s cartoon told the story of Throttle, Modo, and Vinnie – three Biker Mice who were the only survivors of a Martian war against a race of obese, foul-smelling invaders known as the Plutarkians. After crash-landing on Chicago, the trio must defend Earth from the Plutarkian threat as the horrifying aliens look to plunder the planet for its natural resources. It’s currently unknown who will voice the original trio of Biker Mice.
Nacelle recently obtained the rights to the Biker Mice from Mars and rolled out a new line of toys based on the cartoon earlier this year. The upcoming show’s pilot will be directed by Brian Volk-Weiss. He’s also on board as executive producer alongside Cisco Henson, Matt Kravitsky, and Michael Goodman, for Nacelle Company. Maximum Effort’s George Dewey, Kevin Hill, Patrick Gooing, and Ryan Reynolds will serve as EPs alongside Fubo’s David Gandler and Pamela Duckworth.
Biker Mice from Mars will be the first animated series on the Maximum Effort Channel, however, it’s not yet known when the show will debut. The Maximum Effort Channel is available to watch on Fubo and Amazon Freevee as well as LG Channels, Plex, Sling Freestream, Tubi, VIDAA, VIZIO Watchfree+, and Xumo Play.
