Samsung Galaxy S21 series users in India can now experience Android 12 – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung Galaxy S21 users can now experience Android 12 on their smartphones. Samsung recently rolled out the second Android 12 beta with One UI 4.0 for Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones. The company has now expanded the firmware update’s availability to India.
The Samsung Galaxy S21 series users can now register for the beta program using the Samsung Members app. After enrolling in the program, Galaxy S21 users will receive an OTA software prompt with build number ZUJ1.
The update weighs 2.3GB in size and it comes with the latest October security patch. The all new Samsung One UI 4.0 brings Google’s Material You theme engine and widgets to the smartphones.
Samsung One UI 4 also claims to bring new and improved privacy and protection functions that allow users to customise their settings and offer a more personalised user experience. The indicators will now alert users when an app is using the camera or microphone, so that they can disable the permission instantly. Along with this, users can also view permissions history from the last seven days and also keep a check on the current data usage of apps.
Recently, Samsung announced that it is bringing RAM Plus which adds up to 4GB of virtual RAM to devices. The company said that it will soon expand the feature to the Galaxy A and Galaxy M series of smartphones. The virtual RAM feature is among the most recent trends in Android smartphone space. Several Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo have been doing this for a while and now Samsung too has joined the bandwagon with its RAM Plus feature.
The RAM Plus or virtual RAM feature is basically the memory paging feature that was there in Android for a long time.
