Samsung Galaxy S23 series confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm chipset – Times of India
Samsung is said to be working on its latest flagship smartphone series — Galaxy S23. The company is tipped to launch the Galaxy S23 series of smartphones in February next year. The smartphone series is said to include three devices — Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Now ahead of the launch, chipset manufacturer Qualcomm has confirmed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 series of smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm chipset.
During the Q4 earnings call, Qualcomm CFO Akash Plakhiwala said that the company’s revenue will benefit from the launch of Samsung’s new smartphone in the second half of the March quarter of 2023. He further added that the chip major would have a global share in Galaxy S23. This means that major stock of Samsung Galaxy S23 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
“We entered into a new multiyear agreement with Samsung, expanding the use of Snapdragon platforms for future premium Samsung Galaxy products globally. We also executed on the changing OEM landscape opportunity, securing key premium and high-tier design wins with our customers in China. Snapdragon has become synonymous with premium mobile experiences worldwide,” said Qualcomm.
Rumours suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series of smartphones may be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
Recently, a Korean publication reported that Samsung may launch its next-generation flagship Galaxy S23 series of smartphones in the first week of February. The company is expected to launch the smartphones at a physical Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco. The smartphones are expected to go on sale around February 17.
