Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 users complain about straps opening, watch falling off their wrists

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 users complain about straps opening, watch falling off their wrists

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 strap issue

  • New straps for the Galaxy Watch 6 use a button instead of a pin to remove the strap. So you essentially have to press the button to hook the strap on the watch. This is supposed to be more convenient than the previous method, which requires one to pull the pin back to attach the strap.
  • But what’s been happening with few Galaxy Watch 6 users is that the button gets accidentally pressed, and the strap comes off loose. This can happen with some pressure on the wrist that presses the button since they’re on the inside of the strap.
  • Galaxy Watch 6 users have been complaining about this issue on Reddit but not all of them are facing it. Some users say that they’ve been using the new bands and they work completely fine. Some have even advised users to not wear the Galaxy Watch 6 just above the wrist bone as that might press the button.

One way to avoid this to use the older straps that come with the pin mechanism. These are still compatible with the Galaxy Watch 6. Even the new ones that have the button mechanism can be used with the Galaxy Watch 5 and older models. So it looks like this might be the only solution.

There are two models in Samsung’s latest smartwatch lineup – the Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic. With the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, Samsung made a return of the physical rotating bezel that has been a fan favourite for years. The Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch 6 Classic both feature Super AMOLED Always On displays, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. You also get up to 40 hours of battery with the new Samsung watches.
