Samsung is set to release its next-generation Galaxy Watch devices later this year. These devices will run One UI 5 Watch and feature an abnormal heart rhythm notification feature. The new programme will give greater attention to safety, well-being, and health. Samsung has been given clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to add notifications for abnormal heart rhythms to Galaxy Watches.

The company has been experimenting with its wearables throughout time, providing notable advances with each new generation of devices. Samsung’s ECG monitoring app just received FDA certification, allowing for the development of further tools and the addition of new features aimed at enhancing user health and welfare.

The Samsung BioActive Sensor is a feature found in more recent versions like the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which provides on-demand ECG and heart rate alarm functionality that can identify abnormal heart rates. The addition of the abnormal heartbeat alerts will provide the Galaxy Watch with an additional tool in its toolbox and give users more passive health information.

Hon Pak, vice president of Samsung and manager of the company’s digital health team, provided the following information in the news release:

One UI 5 Watch is going to have a Personalised Heart Rate Zone function that will provide real-time analysis when running in addition to the aforementioned features. Additionally, the feature may design personalised interval training plans with five different intensity levels, including warm-up, fat burn, cardio, hard training, and maximum effort.

Additionally, owners of the Galaxy Watch Pro will be able to benefit from GPX files and are able to obtain them straight through the Samsung Health app. A new Sleep Insights user interface will also be available, improving users’ comprehension of their sleep and making the data easier to comprehend.
