Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 may get more expensive | Digit

The Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event is less than 15 days away, where the most awaited Samsung’s foldable smartphones will be launched. While Samsung has not revealed any details of the foldable smartphones but a recent leak suggested the price range of both of these smartphones. 

According to a French Publications, Dealabs, the price of Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 could see a hike in price compared to its predecessor. Dealabs claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will launch at a starting price of EUR 1899 approx ₹1,72,000 for 256GB variant, EUR 2039 approx ₹1,84,000 for 512GB variant and EUR 2279 approx ₹2,06,000 for 1TB variants.

Talking about Galaxy Z Flip 5, it is suggested to launch at a starting price of EUR 1199 approx ₹1,08,000 and EUR 1339 approx ₹1,21,000 for the 512GB variant.

Samsung hasn’t revealed any details about these smartphones yet but we have some leaks that suggest performance, display and camera specs.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is expected to feature a 7.6-inch foldable AMOLED display and 6.2-inch cover display. It could be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and might be packed with a 4400mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support. The smartphone is most likely to run on OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13 OS. For photography, it might use 50-megapixel sensors on the back.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also boast the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 reportedly and will run on the same OneUI 5.1 OS. It is rumoured to feature a 3.4-inch cover display which is bigger than its predecessor. The foldable display could be a 6.7-inch display. The smartphone is expected to feature 12-megapixel cameras on the back. Last but not the least, Galaxy Z Flip 5 is rumoured to be packed with a 3700mAh battery with 25-watt fast charging support.

Despite its increased price, both the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 are expected to be the two top-notch foldables to beat by the rest of the crowd. So if you’re planning to splurge and buy your very first foldable smartphone later this year, definitely wait and see what Samsung’s new foldables will offer very soon.
