Samsung’s new foldables assembled in India

• While Samsung has its biggest smartphone factory in Noida, the foldable phones were never made locally. But that changes now.
• The earlier Samsung Galaxy Z series phones sold in India were assembled in South Korea and Vietnam.
• Despite being made locally, the prices of the foldables are not reduced compared to their predecessors.
• Samsung has also announced that the new Galaxy Watch 6 can make NFC payments in India via Samsung Wallet.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications

• Display: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 sports a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex display with 2,176 x 1,812 pixels resolution, and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. There is a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. 
• Processor: The latest Samsung foldable has Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC ticking at its core.
• RAM and storage: The chipset is paired with up to 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
• OS: The phone runs on Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 custom skin.
• Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has triple cameras on the back, with a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle shooter with dual Pixel AF, OIS, and f/1.8 aperture.
• Front cameras: There is a 10MP shooter on the cover screen and a 4MP under-display sensor on the main folding screen.
• Battery: The Samsung foldable features a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast charging.

• Processor: The Samsung foldable is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.
• RAM and storage: The foldable packs 8GB RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage
• OS: The phone runs on Android 13-based OneUI 5.1 custom skin.
• Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 has triple cameras on the back, comprising a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 10MP shooter on the front for selfies.
