samsung: Here’s why Samsung may not launch the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Samsung fans, here’s some bad news for you. A few days ago it was reported that Samsung has started mass production for its affordable Galaxy S21 series of smartphones — Galaxy S21 FE. The launch of the smartphone has already encountered a lot of delay thanks to the global chip shortage. Now a new online report suggests that Samsung has cancelled the launch of the Fan Edition of the Galaxy S21 smartphone.
According to a report by South Korean publication DDaily, the smartphone maker has cancelled the launch of Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. As per the report a Samsung official has said that the company has cancelled the October Galaxy Unpacked event for Samsung Galaxy S21 Fan Edition smartphone. He further added that the company has given up on launching the smartphone and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE might not be launched at all.
The report also adds that the reason for canceling the launch of Galaxy S21 FE is the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. The recently launched foldable smartphone of the company is selling really well so the company decided not to launch the Galaxy S21 FE. Apart from this, global chip shortage is also the reason behind the cancellation of the launch.
To recall, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Flip 3 in August this year. The foldable smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and runs Android 11 operating system.
The phone is IPX8 water resistant and is protected by Corning Gorilla GLass Victus. Samsung is using the same Armor Aluminum frame in the Z Flip 3 too. As for the camera, there’s a dual camera setup with 12MP wide, F1.8 aperture, OIS and autofocus along with a 12MP ultrawide sensor with F2.2 aperture. Inside, the main display has a 10MP selfie camera with F2.4 aperture.
