Google’s dependency on Samsung for Pixel 7 Pro
As per the report, the mmWave version of the Pixel 7 Pro sports an LTPO OLED panel which is developed by Samsung’s Display unit. The smartphone also houses ISOCELL camera sensors (placed on both front and rear) which are also manufactured by Samsung. Pixel 7 series’ Tensor G2 chipset is also manufactured by Samsung Foundry.
Moreover, Pixel 7 Pro’s baseband, transceivers and power trackers for sub-6GHz bands are also designed by Samsung. The South Korea-based company also supplies the mmWave 5G components for the Pixel 7 Pro which it developed in association with Murata. Apart from this, the Pixel 7 series also uses Samsung’s PMIC components which are responsible for power management and audio of the phones.
Other suppliers of Pixel 7 Pro
Apart from Samsung, Google has also used components from other companies in its latest Pixel 7 Pro. The smartphone’s NAND Flash Storage is supplied by SK Hynix while its RAM is provided by both Micron and Samsung’s Semiconductor departments.
Furthermore, ATL supplies the battery cell and Sunwoda Electronics helps Google with the battery packaging of the Pixel 7 Pro smartphones. On the other hand, NXP takes care of the phone’s wired charging ability and IDT looks after the wireless charging part. Meanwhile, SEMCO is responsible for the rear camera module of the smartphone.
