Samsung not killing ‘Note’, this 2022 flagship smartphone series may get it back – Times of India

There have been reports that Samsung may discontinue its iconic Note series. The company didn’t launch a new Galaxy Note smartphone in 2021 and the tech giant reportedly has also shelved the production of older Note series phones. The last smartphones launched in the Note series are Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series. Now, it seems that we may see the Note moniker on another smartphone by the Korean manufacturer. According to a Tweet by known tipster FronTron, Samsung may name the top of the line model in the upcoming Galaxy S22 series as Samsung Galaxy S22 Note.

Till now, the top-end smartphone in Samsung Galaxy S series comes with ‘Ultra’ branding, Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The Ultra models have been the third variant of these flagship series (Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+). The claim from the tipster seems to be true as the upcoming high-end Galaxy S22 series smartphone reportedly sports familiar boxy design as seen in Note series smartphones.
As per previous reports, the high-end Galaxy S22 series smartphone will be powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The device is also tipped to feature the brightest Samsung OLED screen ever. Although it is not yet clear how bright the display is, one can assume that it has a substantial lead over 1500 nits of peak brightness on the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
When it comes to camera, the smartphone is tipped to have a quad-camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 108MP ISOCELL HM3 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide Sony sensor, a 10MP telephoto Sony sensor and a 10MP periscope Sony sensor. For selfies and video calls, the device is rumoured to sport a similar 40MP selfie shooter like its predecessors Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
