Samsung Reveals New Odyssey Neo G9 and G9, ViewFinity S9 and Smart Monitor M8 Lineups at CES 2023

Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023 is just around the corner and is scheduled to start on January 5, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Technology fans and enthusiasts can expect product showcases from a wide range of exhibitors at CES including manufacturers, developers, and suppliers of consumer technology hardware, and a lot more. Samsung will be a part of this event, and they have already announced their upcoming displays including the Odyssey, Smart Monitor and ViewFinity lineups. Here is everything Samsung revealed around its displays at CES 2023.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9: Specifications and features

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is the world’s first single monitor with dual ultra-high-definition resolution. For the first time, the users will be provided with 7,680×2,160 resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio. It has a 1000R curved 57-inch display that uses quantum mini–LED Technology with VESA Display HDR 1000 specification to enhance the visuals.

This helps in delivering superior imaging, regardless of what the environment is. It also features a matte display, which will reduce light reflection and help with lesser distractions during intense gaming. It also has the world’s first DisplayPort 2.1 which has twice the speed of DisplayPort 1.4. Finally, players can expect the smoothest form of gaming with a 240Hz refresh rate.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9: Features

Then comes the next addition to the Odyssey line-up, the OLED G9. This monitor features a dual quad-HD 49-inch 1800R curved display with an aspect ratio of 32:9. It also features quantum dot technology OLED lighting that is controlled pixel-by-pixel. This helps to provide users with a near-infinite color contrast ratio.

For the professional gamers who love to stay on the bleeding edge, this display is for them. It features a 0.1ms response time with a 240Hz refresh rate for the smoothest experience while gaming. Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is also a smart monitor, so users can access apps from partners like Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube through Smart Hub.

Another notable feature that it comes with is the Samsung Gaming Hub. This is an all-in-one game streaming platform that will help gamers to find and play games in the cloud from partners such as Xbox and Nvidia GeForce. This can now be done without the need for a console.

Samsung ViewFinity S9

Then comes Samsung’s latest addition to the monitor line-up. Through the Samsung ViewFinity S9, users will be graced with a 5K 27-inch display. It comes with 5120×2880 resolution with a wide color gamut of 99% DCI-P3. This helps with crispers images, true-to-form details, and color accuracy.

The monitor also features a built-in color calibration engine, which the users can use to adjust the white balance, Gamma and RGB according to their preferences. Users can use the Samsung Smart Calibration app to make these adjustments. The ViewFinity S9 also comes with a Matte Display, which will help in reducing light reflection and glare, so gaming sessions will have fewer distractions.

It comes with USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 connections that can be used to connect cameras and other devices. It also helps to transfer massive files easily with high-resolution video or any other large data. Buyers will be provided with a 4K SlimFit camera with the ViewFinity S9, which supports native video conferencing through apps such as Google Meet that are included in the Samsung Smart Hub.

Samsung Smart Monitor M8

Finally, we have the Smart Monitor M8, which comes in a new 27-inch size with 4K resolution, just like the 32-inch one. Another detail about this smart monitor is the customization, as it comes with 4 color options, Daylight Blue, Spring Green, Sunset Pink, or Warm White.

The Smart Monitor M8 also comes with a height adjustable stand, which can now pivot 90 degrees. Users can also connect, control, and manage hundreds of compatible connected devices through the built-in SmartThings Hub. This includes lights, cameras, doorbells, locks, thermostats, and much more. The Smart Monitor M8 also comes with mouse control functionality.

As the M8 is a smart monitor, users will be able to access apps from partners like Prime Video, Netflix, and YouTube through Smart Hub. It also features the Samsung Gaming Hub, the all-in-one game streaming platform. This monitor will also come with the SlimFit camera upgraded with 2K resolution and works with video conferencing apps such as Google Meet.
