Samsung: Samsung addresses screen issue faced by Galaxy S23 Ultra users – Times of India

South Korea-based tech giant Samsung launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S23 series earlier this month. The smartphones in the lineup include — the Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra. Samsung’s latest premium smartphone series has already gone on sale in some markets, including India. However, several early buyers of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone have complained about a screen issue on their new phones. According to a report by PhoneArena, several Galaxy S23 Ultra has resorted to different social media channels including Reddit, Twitter and even Samsung Community forums to report the display defect.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra screen defect: What is it
Some early users of the Galaxy S23 Ultra have discovered a defect in Samsung’s latest most expensive flagship smartphone. These users have complained that the display has a minor deformity. Most of the affected users have mentioned that the alleged flaw is appearing either on the bottom left or right side of the smartphone. However, other users have noticed the defect on both sides of the phone’s display.

Samsung’s reaction to the issue
Meanwhile, the company has assured affected Galaxy S23 Ultra users that they don’t need to be concerned about this display issue. Samsung UK has also explained why this is not a defect. The company claimed that some parts of the display may appear to be squashed as the screen has several layers of glass that are bonded together. This intricate bonding of layers ensures waterproofing and dust proofing, Samsung added.

This means that even if some users may discover an issue with the bottom corners of the Galaxy S23 Ultra it doesn’t mean that the product is defective. Moreover, in most cases, the screen defect is so minor that users have to look very closely or shine a light to even notice the issue.
Furthermore, this display ‘defect’ is common on Samsung phones. The company also has a dedicated page that explains why the traces of stacked lines on the screen is not product defect.
