The highly anticipated Project K will be the first Indian film to be a part of the San Diego Comic-Con. The news was shared by the cast of Project K, which includes Bollywood actors Deepika Padukone and Prabhas, on their Instagram accounts on July 8.
According to Variety, Project K is an Indian science fiction epic. The producers said that the film intends to pave the way for India’s “most ambitious cinematic universe yet with its captivating storytelling, futuristic setting, and ‘Spice Punk’ aesthetic inspired by the film.”
As for a sneak peek into the list of veterans associated with the film, Project K is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, under the leadership of C. Aswani Dutt. The film will be directed by Nag Ashwin, and stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in pivotal roles.
Project K at San Diego Comic-Con International
Project K will reportedly be kicking off the celebrations at San Diego Comic-Con’s opening night party on July 19, where fans will get to see the first look of the film. The following day, on July 20, a panel titled “This is Project K: First Glimpse of India’s Mytho-Sci-Fi Epic” will be hosted. It will feature actors Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan as panellists. The film’s full title, teaser trailer, and release date will reportedly also be revealed, alongside a performance by the stars. The event is reportedly also being supported by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media.
Speaking about Project K being presented at the San Diego event, which takes place from July 20 to 23, director Ashwin said:
“We are thrilled to present ‘Project K”s debut at San Diego Comic-Con. India’s storytelling tradition has ancient roots, with its epics serving as the origins for many civilizations worldwide. A world as big as this needs a platform as big to introduce it to the people. Comic-Con felt like the perfect place, where the honesty and enthusiasm needed for ‘Project K’ will be found.”
