Secret Invasion Finale Is Now the Lowest-Rated MCU Episode Ever on Rotten Tomatoes
The final episode of MCU’s latest show, Secret Invasion, premiered on Disney+ on 26th July. The episode now not only has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes rating in the show, but in all of the MCU. Fans have since then been expressing their disappointment with how things ultimately turned out in the series that marked the comeback of the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Nick Fury.
Secret Invasion finale episode doesn’t fare well on Rotten Tomatoes
The first episode of Secret Invasion has the highest rating in the show at 52% followed by Episodes 2 and 5 tied at 50%. The Rotten Tomatoes rating further drops down to 38% for both Episodes 4 and 5, only for the series finale to reach a new low at only 13%.
As fans take to social media to share their reactions, they’ve pointed out how Secret Invasion did exactly what She-Hulk criticised MCU for doing in the Finale of her own show that released last year in August.
For more context, Hulk appeared for the final showdown with the main antagonist of the show, which Jennifer Walters vehemently protested, asserting that it was her show. She also questioned how the writers came up with the “big twist” of making the bad guy steal her blood to give himself superpowers. She asks, “Where did you come up with that original idea? Was that from every other superhero story ever?”. And that’s more or less what happens in the Secret Invasion finale, with back-to-back cameos of random superpowers we have previously seen in the MCU.
Some fans wanted another Jennifer Walters retcon to undo the outcome of the action between G’iah and Gravik.
Secret Invasion sets the stage for The Marvels, and after watching the finale, you would understand why Nick Fury seeks Carol Danvers’ help. Secret Invasion is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
