Settings: WhatsApp may soon introduce a redesigned Settings page on Android devices – Times of India

WhatsApp recently added the Edit messages feature, allowing users to edit messages for up to 15 minutes after they are sent. Now, it has been reported that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform is working on a new Settings interface within the Android version of the app. However, the feature is under development and is yet to be released to beta testers.
According to a report by WABetaInfo, the redesigned settings page will bring some new additions to the messaging app. The update carries firmware version 2.23.11.16 and is rolling out through the Google Play Beta Program, which adds a redesigned settings page with three new shortcuts. This means users will now be able to experiment with an improved user experience while navigating through the app settings.
The enhanced interface will feature three new profile shortcuts, namely, Profile, Privacy, and Contacts. This means WhatsApp users will no longer have to scroll to browse these options. In addition to this, WhatsApp also plans to integrate the starred message and linked device shortcuts within the app settings. The feature is already available on WhatsApp for iOS. WhatsApp will reorganise the settings section to make the options easier to access.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp also plans to roll out a new Settings shortcut, allowing users to easily access the features. The company is reportedly planning to add a new shortcut to open the app settings. After selecting the new shortcut with the profile photo, the user will be prompted with a redesigned settings page. At the moment, the redesigned settings page includes a large profile photo along with a shortcut to view the QR code. WABetaInfo has confirmed that the feature will go through further redesign when it is under development.
