Sifu To Release on Xbox and Steam With Arenas Update
Sloclap, the developer behind the acclaimed martial arts adventure game Sifu, has announced that the game will be released for Xbox consoles and made available on Steam in March 2023.
The release of the game on these platforms will happen at the same time as the launch of a new Arenas mode. The mode will be available as a free update for all platforms.
Sifu was originally released for the PS4, PS5, and PC via the Epic Games Store in February. It then got a Nintendo Switch version in November. The game is about a young kung-fu student on a quest for revenge in a fictional city in modern-day China.

The Arenas mode is like a survival mode for the game, which will bring with it nine maps. “Successfully completing the arenas will progressively unlock a massive new modifiers batch, which doubles the current game’s amount and notably brings alternative moves to the Kung Fu palette of our main character,” the developers told IGN. “Completing the new Arenas challenges will also unlock new cheats and exclusive new outfits.”
Sifu has received several updates since it came out. These updates included the addition of a replay editor, modifiers, cheats, and outfits for the character.
A live-action adaptation of the game has also been announced. John Wick creator Derek Kolstad will provide the screenplay for the film.
In IGN’s Sifu review, we said its “brutal learning curve and unique structure that requires you to beat it in just one lifetime are significant barriers to overcome, but on the other side is truly one of the best modern action games around.”
