Sky Sports have been branded “pathetic” and “weak” by fans for holding talks with Red Bull about the team’s boycott. Red Bull and Max Verstappen stopped talking to the broadcaster at the Mexican Grand Prix after Ted Kravitz had suggested Lewis Hamilton was robbed of an eighth F1 title last season.
Speaking in Austin, Kravitz said: “[Hamilton] doesn’t win a race all year, and then finally comes back at a track where he could win the first race all year, battling the same guy who won the race he was robbed in the previous year, and manages to finish ahead of him. What a script and a story that would have been. But that’s not the way the script turned out today, was it?”
According to the Daily Mail, Sky Sports bosses have held conversations with Red Bull, who now appear happy to end the feud. It is believed Sky Sports F1 director Billy McGinty is set to head to Milton Keynes for further discussions.
Meanwhile, Kravitz is expected to sit down with Red Bull boss Christian Horner in Sao Paulo this weekend. However, F1 fans have criticised the broadcaster’s decision to meet Red Bull and defended Kravitz’s comments.

“You better be going to have Ted’s back and release yourselves from [their] clutches. @tedkravitz you did NOTHING wrong!” Last weekend, Verstappen clarified he was not talking to the channel as they were “disrespectful”.
Red Bull boss Horner also revealed Verstappen was “very upset” about the comments. However, social media users have accused Red Bull of trying to silence Sky reporters in another blow to the constructor.
@shipmercs remarked: “Hope Sky back their guy Ted Kravitz, nothing he said was either untrue or unfair. Simply expressed his opinion. Red Bull are trying to bully reporters.” @DazTwo3 tweeted: “Now Ted is gonna be under strict rules to not bad mouth RBR. Which is yet more manipulation from them.”
