Snapchat has added new Diwali-themed AR lenses and stickers: Find all details here | Digit

Snapchat is fully festive this Diwali by announcing new features for Indian users to celebrate the festival of lights. All app tabs will offer something Diwali-related for Snapchatters to explore. The first feature users will have in the Camera tab is multiple Diwali-themed AR lenses and geo-filters that match the festival vibes. In addition, the app has added a new festive-themed Bitmoji and cameo stickers in the chat tab to wish your family and friends and action’ emojis,’ lights, diyas, and lanterns in the Maps tab. 

Snapchat’s Spotlight section will also host a #LightUpSpotlight event where creators can record and share Diwali outfits, dance videos, and other Diwali-themed videos. Further, you can now give a makeover to your local sweet using AR lenses. You can also use virtual firecrackers, floral decor, and diyas to add a Diwali aesthetic to the sweet shops in your locality, then share the Snaps on the app to support them.

Snapchat will also launch the trailer for seasons 2 and 3 of Phone Swap, a popular show where two participants go on a blind date, exchange phones, and learn more about each other to decide if they are in for a second date.

So this year, we want to elevate the experience for our users through this special Diwali makeover AR Lens where they can hero their favorite mithai shops, thus also promoting and encouraging small business owners.”
